Combo

Korf's recently penned Combo, commissioned by trumpet virtuoso Louis Hanzlik and University of Connecticut, is the subject of a five-minute video documentary by Andy Bove and Tony Dolce of Purple Critter. The video uses the first rehearsal of this new septet as a backdrop, exploring the influences and inspiration behind the music as well as the challenges of performing it.

The Order in Which it was Received

A new work, written for New York-based contrabass legend Kurt Muroki, is currently underway. Muroki, one of America’s most respected bassists and pedagogues, is an artist member of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center among numerous other accomplishments. He plays on a double bass once owned by the famous Domenico Dragonetti. Korf’s new work, for bass and piano, follows the wishes of the commission in that it is equally suitable for recitals and chamber concerts.
